Today being 26th of January 2016, Google went into an update of their products which caused some of their products like Google drive and Gmail to go down. These updates came in three phases which has three different results as shown below;

Update, 10:58GMT: Google updated it Status Dashboard to reflect problems across Google Drive, slides, Docs, Sheets, Drawings and Gmail as well.

Update 2, 12:50GMT: Google updated its service status page again at 12:17GMT to say that the problems with Drive should now be resolved, but the issues with Gmail are still shown as on going as reported by users.

Update 3, 14:00GMT: Once again, Google updated its status page to once again say that the Gmail issues should be resolved by now.

Many of Google’s most popular services stopped working and this have left Gmail, Google Drive and other Google services inaccessible to users.

Almost every major Google consumer product was hit by the product update outage, including Google Drive, Google Docs and Gmail.

Though Google’s own status page now says that all of its services are back online, user reported say they are not.

These page updates said that “The problem with Google Docs should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.”

As we all know, Google’s online productivity suite is currently being used by many of the world’s largest companies. It is covered by the well-known Google Apps known as “Service Level Agreement”, which means that Google has to give a free service to companies that pay for it (premium package) if they are unavailable for more than 99.9% of any given month.
