Let’s take a quick look at Gmail password recovery if you forget yours.

You see; most times, we, the Gmail users forget our Gmail account password and it no big deal that it happens. For sure it happens most times as a result of setting and using strong passwords and changing them at regular intervals as always recommended. In this process of changing your Gmail account password, you might forget the password of your account. This can also happen to people who rarely open or login their Gmail account using different device. Google mail understands that something like this is likely to happen, so they simply have to include a “Gmail password Recovery” option in-case any Gmail user experiences such problem.

So the big question now is if I forget my Gmail account password, how do I recover it?

In this Post, I will be showing you step by step guide on how you can go about with your Gmail password recovery at ease.

Steps on how to recover Gmail password

Step 1:Kindly Visit Gmail login page and click on the “Need help?” link shown below.

Once you have done this, it will take you to Gmail recovery Page.

Step 2: Select the 1st option, which says “I don’t know my password” by clicking on the radio button on the left side.

After you’ve clicked on the radio button, a text box filed will pop up so you can input your Gmail address password that you want to recover.

Step 3: Input the email address you would like to recover a password for in this text field, also add an email address associated with it, or your Google Apps email address.

Step 4: Next, click on the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.

Step 5: You’ll be redirected to a page where you’ll have to input a past password associated with the Gmail account, If you still remember any, input it. And if you remember, click on the “I don’t know” button to continue to the next page.

Step 6: On this page, Google will want to verify your account ownership by sending you a verification code to your phone number.

You can choose to receive the verification as a text message or as an automated voice call from Gmail team. Kindly choose either of them and click on “Continue” button.

Step 7: In this page, you have to enter the verification code that was sent to your phone as text, and then click on “Continue.” Button.

Step 8: Now you will be taken to the last page of Recovering your Gmail password, input a new password and confirm it by retyping it in the next text field and then click on “Change password.”

Congratulations! You just recovered your Gmail password

Note: If you wish to add some changes to your Gmail account verification process easier if in case you lose your Password, Forget your Gmail address or device, then kindly click on the “Review my recovery info”

And if you don’t have access to your mobile phone number, in step 5 above, just click on “I can’t access my phone.” link

You’ll be redirected to a page where you will be asked to provide an Email address through which Google can contact you. You should note that this is a requirement and must provide it. If you don’t have any, please create one here

 

In this page, all you have to do is to enter the required details about when you were able to login last and when you created the Gmail account in question, then click on the “Continue” button to proceed.

Here, Click on “Reset Password” on the appearing page and Type in your proposed new password and confirm it by re-typing the password and then click on “Change Password.” Button for finish.

In the next step, kindly enter your new password and confirm it by re-typing it and tap the “change Password” button.
